With the support of government funding, the Welfare Council and Sun Hung Kai Properties have collaborated in the establishment of United Count Transitional Housing Project at Tung Tau, Yuen Long. The Project provides 1,800 units with the aim of improving the living conditions of grassroots families. Through the delivery of social services, we aim to inspire our residents to participate actively in the activities of United Count, thereby building a caring, supportive and inclusive community together.
The "United Court" is built by the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) method. The development will be divided into 8 large residential areas, providing 4 different household types for 5,000 disadvantaged families. The project features include (1) located at Tung Tau, Yuen Long, which is close to Yuen Long MTR Station, Long Ping MTR Station and Yuen Long Town, with convenient transportation and comprehensive community facilities; (2) various facilities for the benefit of the residents, including an integrated service centre, a community garden, a convenience store, a self-service laundary; (3) providing residents with after-school care, parenting education, health guidance, employment training and community participation opportunities by a team of social workers, to enhance the residents' abilities and foster their sense of belonging; and (4) introducing the first "8 Well-Being Indices" in transitional housing to provide support to residents according to their body, mind and spiritual well-being needs, to encourage them to develop good living habits and build up their self-confidence.
