Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council's Key Services Milestones

1981

The Welfare Council established the S.K.H. Wong Tai Sin Multi-service Centre for the Elderly (now known as the Wong Tai Sin District Elderly Community Centre) and set up the its first home help service team and elderly centre.

The Social Welfare Department gave the Welfare Council the green light to start providing youth services—the K.H. Tuen Mun Social Service Centre (now known as the Tuen Mun Integrated Services) and the S.K.H. Shatin Social Service Centre (now known as the Shatin Children and Youth Integrated Service Centre) were thus established. In the years to come, the Welfare Council would open youth integrated service centres in Kowloon City, Ma On Shan and Tin Shui Wai.
