The Welfare Council’s first service unit for rehabilitation, the Wu King Integrated Rehabilitation Services—Day Activity Centre and Hostel began operations in Tuen Mun. In 2008 and 2010 respectively, the Welfare Council went on to open the Tuen Mun District Support Centre—The Gathering, and the Tuen Mun Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness—The Club. Both centres provided support and rehabilitation services for intellectually disabled persons, persons with mental illness, and their families.
